WDMLA Committees

Members of the Academy board and the West Des Moines community participate in the five committees that together plan and execute all aspects of the Academy's programs. If you are interested in serving on a committee, please contact us.

Finance Committee

Treasurer: Linda Hulleman

This committee is responsible for developing and reviewing fiscal procedures, and annual budget.

Curriculum Committee

Chair: Carole Chambers

The Curriculum Committee is responsible for the detailed planning and execution of the Academy's programs.

Selection Committee

Chair: Phil Hodgin

The Selection Committee makes applications available for the upcoming class, reviews applications and selects applicants to join in the Academy.

Communications Committee

Chair: Jeremy Schultz

The Communications Committee is responsible for maintaining the Academy website, public relations announcements, marketing of the Academy, drafting letters of acceptance and other communication pieces as needed.

Fundraising Committee

Chair: Karen Novak Swalwell

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for securing corporate sponsorships.
