Thomas Leon

Tom was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1962 and moved to the Des Moines area in 1965. Tom graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines and received his Bachelors’ of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from the University of Iowa.
Tom Leon began his insurance career in 1987 working in Des Moines for The Principal Financial Group. From 1998 through 2005, Tom was the Executive Director of a large association health plan for educators in Iowa. From 2005 through 2007, Tom was the President of his own employee benefit consulting firm. Tom was with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network from 2007 until 2009, when he became a Team Leader for the Shared Services department at Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa.
Tom lives in West Des Moines with his wife Patty and three sons, Joe, Ryan and Nick. His children attend Dowling Catholic High School and St. Francis of Assisi grade school in West Des Moines.
Tom has had family in the West Des Moines area for more than 90 years. Tom’s grandparents first settled in “Valley Junction” in the late 1910’s and his father was born here in 1921.
