Brandon Schulte

Class of 2010
Brandon attended Iowa State University from 1997 to 2002 and obtained a bachelors degree in Construction Engineering. During the time he participated in a cooperative learning platform for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Construction and Engineering Department.
Upon receipt of his degree he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and began work in the estimating department for a local general contracting firm. After a few years the opportunity to move back to Iowa and work in the Des Moines area landed him at The Weitz Company.
In August of 2004, Brandon started his career with Weitz as a Project Engineer on the central Des Moines Public Library project. After successful completion of the project he transitioned to the Polk County Jail facility where he worked until project completion in the spring of 2008.
This led to his current role as an Assistant Project Manager for the Aviva USA headquarters facility in West Des Moines. He serves as the manager for the mechanical and electrical components of the facility as well as the leader for the Virtual Construction Techniques being utilized on the project. To assist in the projects LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) goals, Brandon became a LEED Accredited Professional in May of 2009.
Outside of work Brandon enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in his hometown of Waukon located in the bluffs of Northeast Iowa.
Brandon is married and lives in Altoona with his wife Kim and four mouth old son Gage.
