Chris Bauer

Class of 2010
Chris Bauer is a Civil Engineer/Project Manager for Shive-Hattery. He started work with Shive-Hattery as a Civil Engineering Intern in the summer of 2004 finalizing the design and construction of Jordan Creek Town Center. Chris advanced to his current project manager position after just three and a half years out of college being one of the youngest project managers in the company’s history. He now leads a handful of site development projects across the state as a part of the Community Development Team.
Born and raised in Washington, Iowa Chris graduated from Washington High School in 2001. He participated in many school sports and his local Boy Scout troop where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also an active member in his local Methodist Church participating in numerous volunteer service trips.
Chris earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 2005 while assisting with numerous concrete paving research projects. While in college he was actively involved in the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and led the ISU steel bridge competition team to a seventh place national finish. Chris moved to West Des Moines following his graduation and purchased a home that he continues to remodel in his limited spare time.
Chris enjoys playing in many sports leagues across the metro, traveling, hiking, canoeing, and spending time with his fiancé Jody and dog Sammy.
