Ashley Gregory

Class of 2011
I am a Structural Engineer for Shive-Hattery. I started work at Shive-Hattery as a Structural Engineer Intern in 2005 after graduating from Iowa State. I received my PE license in Iowa this spring. I have had the opportunity to work on the structural design of a variety of projects. I have spent a significant amount of time working on industrial projects concerning the analysis and design of support structure for bridge crane, monorail, and conveyor systems as well as foundation design for industrial equipment. I have also worked on commercial and healthcare buildings.
I am from Cherokee, Iowa. I graduated from Washington High School in 1999. I participated in sports, band, orchestra, and speech during high school. I was also an active 9-year member of 4-H.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University in 2005. As an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant on a slope-stability project. I also worked as a teaching assistant for engineering economics and technical writing courses.
After graduating, I moved to the Des Moines metro area. I joined the Urbandale Jaycees and served as a project chairman and board member. I live in Clive with my husband Chris, stepdaughter Claire, and 2 house rabbits Bugs and Snickers. I enjoy spending my time reading, gardening, knitting, running, biking, swimming, and riding my horse when I can make it back to visit my parents.
