Christina Taylor
Class of 2010
Dr. Christina Taylor was raised in Des Moines, IA, having graduated from Lincoln High School in 1989. She obtained a nursing degree and worked at Blank Children’s Hospital while she worked on a biology degree from Grand View College. During her schooling she married Rob Taylor and had two daughters before attending the University of Iowa’s College of Medicine. She received her M.D. in 2003 followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Iowa Health Des Moines, adding two sons during medical school and residence.
Dr. Taylor currently practices at The Iowa Clinic in West Des Moines and is part of the teaching staff for the internal medicine residents. She is Chair of The Iowa Clinic’s Healthcare Foundation which raises money for local free medical clinics and hospices among other things, and she serves as The Iowa Clinic’s Ethics Chair.
During her first year of practice she founded the charity Bras for the Cause Iowa to support breast and cervical cancer screening and research and to date has raised over $1 million for the cause.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, various art endeavors, and time with her husband and children.
