Edye has spent almost a decade benefiting the community through her employment with Iowa Health Des Moines in many roles, directly supporting patient care and improving their environment. She has expanded her support of patient care and services through her community involvement, beyond her roles in her workplace.
She attended school in West Des Moines, graduating from Valley High School. She continued her education in Iowa attending both DMACC and the University of Iowa, achieving a degree in Culinary Arts. During her years of service in the hospitality industry, Edye supported many charitable and civic organizations, through fund raising, event planning, and personal contributions.
Edye has been directly involved in many large metro charitable and civic events as a sponsor or volunteer, including: WDM Chamber Board of Directors, WDM Chamber Programming Chair, Chair for The Big Deal WDM Chamber, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Committee Member and Sponsorship Committee, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Women of the Year Candidate, Leukemia and Lymphoma Recuitement Committee, Temple B’nai Jeshurun, Friends of the Val Air Ballroom, Food Bank of Iowa, West Des Moines, Human Services, and Combat Hunger.
When Edye is not volunteering her time and resources, you can find her at Principal Park cheering for the Iowa Cubs or entertaining friends and family. Edye loves to travel and embark on new adventures. But her greatest love is her two nephews and her family.
