I have been married to my husband Brad for 28 years. We have three children and three grandchildren and have lived in Grimes since 1984.
Personally I have been involved with the following organizations with my family: Founding and Charter Member the Grimes United Methodist Church in 1987. At GUMC I have been involved with Leadership Team Secretary, Sunday School and Bible School Teacher, Missions Chair, started the Grimes Community Food Pantry, site coordinator for hosting the Interfaith Hospitality Network, bell choir, choir, Trustees, Finance Committee, and served on a mission team to Mississippi and Kampala, Uganda in 2005. Currently I serve on the praise team (GUMP) and co-lead our CORE Group with my husband. I have also been a Girl Scout Leader for nine years, merit badge counselor for Boy Scouts for five years, and a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician-D for nine years with the Grimes Volunteer Fire Department where I held the positions of Squad Leader, Rescue Lieutenant and Secretary.
I was also on the Board of the Grimes Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years. I held the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. The Chamber merged with the Economic Development Corp and I was asked to stay on the Board for another term of Vice President and President. I also served on the Grimes Funtastic Days Committee and coordinated this annual town celebration for three years out of the 12 I served. In 2007 I became involved with the Clive Chamber and served as an Ambassador and Co-chair of the Ambassador Committee. In 2011 I was elected to Vice President and serve as Clive Chamber President in 2012.
