Mr. Schmidt is currently Vice President of NCMIC Finance Corporation. He helped NFC to start up and build the company’s merchant credit card processing business in 2002 through a subsidiary company that was purchased outright in 2005 by NFC. He has over 20 years of experience in mostly operating positions within the credit card industry.
Mr. Schmidt co-founded Newtek Merchant Solutions in 2002 by merging the assets and customer base of his previous company, American Merchant Services to start the business. He was its President and Chief Operating Officer.
Previously, Mr. Schmidt was the Vice President of Business Integration at Universal Payment Processing, a division of Universal Savings Bank, FA. Prior to that, Mr. Schmidt was Vice President of Operations at First Interstate Bank of South Dakota, NA. This division ultimately became the very first of many merchant acquisitions that have since been made by First Data Corporation. Tracy cut his teeth in the credit card industry by serving multiple bank customers during his 5 year tenure with FDC.
