Lindsay Knoop is a Financial Reporting Manager at Hy-Vee Inc. Hy-Vee, Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating 226 retail stores in seven Midwestern states. For 2008 the company recorded total sales of $6.2 billion, ranking it among the top 30 supermarket chains and the top 50 private companies in the United States. Supermarket News, the authoritative voice of the food industry, honored the company with the 2008 Whole Health Enterprise Award for its leadership in providing services and programs that promote a healthy lifestyle.
Lindsay began her work with Hy-Vee in 2002 as a part-time courtesy clerk in Lincoln, Nebraska and interned in the Accounting and Internal Audit Departments while in college. Upon graduation from college, she joined the Hy-Vee headquarters as an Internal Auditor. In June 2009 she was promoted to her current position. Her job responsibilities include accounting for the Hy-Vee and Affiliates Benefit Plan and Trust, gift cards, vendor coupons, notes receivable, ad fund, Ice Manufacturing, and Bakery Manufacturing. She is responsible for the balancing of EFT transactions as well as all accounts payable. Finally, she is responsible for supervising the Document Imaging Department which is comprised of 3 full time and 10 part time employees.
Lindsay graduated magna cum laude from Buena Vista University in 2005 with Bachelors degrees in Accounting and Management-Entrepreneurship. While in college, she was actively involved with and held leadership roles in Student Senate, Student Ambassadors, Alumni Association Student Board, and Student M.O.V.E. (Mobilizing Outreach and Volunteer Efforts), as well as many other campus organizations. After college, Lindsay has continued to be involved in community events and organizations, including Everybody Wins! Iowa, ALS, as well as the Hy-Vee Classic and Hy-Vee Triathlon which support Variety–The Children’s Charity.
Lindsay resides in Granger with her husband Matt, of one year, and five-month-old Vizsla puppy. In Lindsay’s free time, she enjoys playing volleyball in numerous leagues, running, and avidly following the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Lindsay has three younger brothers and enjoys following their sporting events. Lindsay and Matt are members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale.
